Staff
Meet the staff of the 9th Annual St. John's Short Play Festival!
Ana Pitol (she/her) is a Brazilian production manager, arts administrator, and mother of little Isabel (2-year-old) based in St. John's, NL, Canada. She has a Bachelor's degree (2011) and a Master's degree in History (2015) and has been a History teacher since 2010. She began to study acting in 2018 and since arriving in Canada (2022), she decided to change her career and dedicated herself to working in theatre. Since then she has been involved and working with relevant organisations in St. John's and Atlantic Canada such as PARC, TODOS Productions, White Rooster Theatre, St. John's Shorts, Wonderbolt Productions and Women's Work Festival.
Sarah White (she/her) is a theatre artist from the west coast of Newfoundland. Select credits include Stage Management and Production Management for the Gros Morne Theatre Festival (TNL), teaching Stage Management at Grenfell Campus (MUN), Touring Technical Director for Terra Bruce Productions’ jukebox musicals Let’s Dance! and Let’s Bop!, ASM for Resource Centre for the Arts’ Supper Club and LX Designer for a few recent shows such as Best Kind Productions' Heathers, Turncoat Hill for the King’s Point Theatre Project and Our Eliza for TNL. Sarah currently serves as the Associate Technical Director for the LSPU Hall. After working on the Shorts as a technician in 2023, Sarah is incredibly excited to be on board this year as the TD and help bring all of these wonderful pieces of work to the stage!
Perin Squires (they/them) is a self proclaimed "human swiss army knife", having dipped their toes into a little bit of everything within the arts community of St. John's, NL. They hold a Major in English with a specialization in theatre and drama, a Minor in Film Studies, and a Diploma in Performance and Media Communications from Memorial University. In their off time they love to draw and play Dungeons and Dragons, putting all of their theatre skills to use within the confines of their dining room table.
Bruna Cardoso (she/her) is a communications and marketing professional passionate about putting ideas and people together! Her key skills are public relations, marketing strategy, funding and engagement development, events coordination and branding.
Kelly Lewis (she/they) is a stage manager and arts administrator who hails from North Bay, Ontario. She holds a diploma in Dance Performance from the Holland College School of Performing Arts, but she’s traded her pointe shoes for steel toe boots as she now prefers to work behind the scenes. She recently graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a diploma in Stage and Screen Technique. Recent credits include assistant stage manager for The Wild Rovers and Let’s Bop! (Terra Bruce Productions), stage manager for The River (Double Sure Theatre) Art (Sycamore Productions) and RIG (RCA Theatre). This is Kelly’s fourth year as Festival Stage Manager with the Shorts, and she especially enjoys seeing emerging artists find their footing in this little festival. Whether this is your first time producing a show or your 100th time, she’ll be backstage cheering you on!
